Police seized several kilograms of cannabis and arrested seven people in raids on tinnie houses in Auckland's eastern suburbs yesterday.
Search warrants were carried out at three houses in Panmure and two in Pt England, and another on a car -- an operation involving about 70 police officers which was the culmination of several months of investigation, police said in a statement.
Five men and two women, most of whom were associated with gangs, were arrested and will appear in Auckland District Court today facing drug dealing charges.
Police also seized several kilograms of the class C drug and several thousand dollars in cash, as well as items of stolen property.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark McHattie said the busts would seriously interrupt the local drug supply for some time.
