KEY POINTS:
Police drug squad detectives busted another illicit methamphetamine laboratory in Christchurch today, their 11th find in Canterbury this year.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Archer said a 30-year-old man was arrested when police executed a drugs-related search warrant at a Birch St, New Brighton, property this morning.
Equipment and chemicals required for manufacturing methamphetamine, or P, were found.
Members of the Wellington-based police clandestine drugs laboratory team had arrived and were examining the property, Mr Archer told NZPA.
A decontamination unit wasn't required.
"Other people were present, but only one person has been charged," Mr Archer said.
The 30-year-old was scheduled to appear in Christchurch District Court this afternoon charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possessing equipment and materials with intent to manufacture the drug.
A woman is facing charges of possessing equipment for manufacturing methamphetamine after police raided a suburban Woolston property last week.
