KEY POINTS:
Police believe they know the identities of two groups involved in a fracas in Auckland.
Officers were called in an incident in Wolverton St, in Blockhouse Bay, just before midnight last night.
Inspector Barry Smalley says the groups were continuing a fight from earlier in the evening. He says members of one group had returned armed with a hammer, baseball bat and a long-barreled firearm.
Mr Smalley says the offenders left the scene before police arrived, but most of them are believed to be female.
