A police spokesperson said officers were responding to a report of an aggravated robbery at a commercial premises on Horomatangi St, reported just before 10am.
“Inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstance and locate the offenders,” the spokesperson said.
“No injuries have been reported.”
In April, Michael Hill Taupō was the victim of a daylight robbery when two people entered the premises with their faces covered and attempted to break into the glass cabinets before a staff member activated the fog cannons.
