Police were attacked by drunken party-goers last night in the Bay of Plenty -- less than a week after a Tauranga policewoman was seriously injured while trying to break up a mob.
Police were called to a party in Mount Maunganui last night after complaints from neighbours, Newstalk ZB reported.
Some of the crowd of about 60 threw bottles as police moved in.
Six women and two men are due in court next week on a variety of charges.
Meanwhile, a policewoman is still in hospital after she was bashed with a wheel rim early on Sunday morning.
She suffered a fractured skull, shoulder and nose injuries in the attack, while four male officers received less serious injuries.
A 27-year-old charged with assaulting her is due back in court on Monday.
