A tagger who had been sought after a spate of arsons in Christchurch has been arrested.
Police said the man was no longer a suspect and had been charged with intentional damage.
The tagger became a suspect in the arsons investigation after his tag: 'dtek', was seen splashed across Aranui, where a number of fires had been lit.
Over the past three weeks there have been a spate of arsons of residential properties in Aranui, Wainoni and Avondale - with seven fires alone lit between 12.44am and 1.42am last Saturday in Aranui - two of which had people asleep inside.
A red-stickered property in Linwood was also set on fire on Sunday.
