Masterton police have arrested an armed man wanted in connection with a shooting in the area which occurred last Tuesday night.
James Triple M Ford, 44, was located and arrested on Christmas Day in a car at a Masterton service station.
Police are investigating whether a firearm discovered in the vehicle is the same gun used in the shooting, Detective Sergeant Mark McHattie said in a statement.
Ford is to appear in court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, causing grievous bodily harm with intent to cause grievous harm, kidnapping, two charges of threatening to kill and assault with intent to injure.
A 20-year-old Tokoroa man and a Masterton woman, 34, who were also in the car, have been charged with being accessories after the fact.
