A man police described as a violent offender was arrested today in Wellington.
Danny Mooney, 44, was wanted for breaching a protection order on January 19 in Lower Hutt and for failing to appear in Kaikoura District Court on a cannabis-related charge on January 28, police spokeswoman Victoria Davis said.
Mooney had connections to people in Waikato, Wanganui and Christchurch.
He was classed as a high risk offender and police thanked the public in helping track him down.
