Police have arrested two men after a sawn-off shotgun was pointed at the occupants of a car in Hamilton last night.
Senior Sergeant Gillian Meadows, of Hamilton, said today police were told two men in a blue Toyota pointed a shotgun at another car as it was driving past in the Pukete area about 11pm.
Police located the car which was stopped by armed officers in Ulster Road.
A small amount of cannabis and an unloaded shotgun was recovered from the vehicle.
Ms Meadow said two men, aged 20 and 21, had been bailed to appear in Hamilton District Court on firearms and drugs charges.
The occupants of the two vehicles were not known to each other.
