Police are appealing for witnesses to a Waikato crash earlier this month that left a teenager dead.
Shayna Kumitau, 18, died in Auckland Hospital four days after the crash which occurred shortly before 10pm on Thursday, February 4, on State Highway 23 near Whatawhata.
Acting Senior Sergeant Paul Scoble said Ms Kumitau was a passenger in a Suzuki Swift which collided head-on with an eastbound Nissan Bluebird.
The driver of a Hyundai Sonata, who had been travelling to Raglan with the occupants of the Suzuki, managed to brake and avert all but a minor collision.
"Investigators would like to hear from anyone who noticed anything untoward in relation to the driving of the Bluebird in the period before the crash," Mr Scoble said.
