Police appeal for help after Dome Vallley assault

Police investigating the assault of a woman found bound and gagged on the side of the road are appealing for sightings of an older-style blue van.

Three people have been arrested in relation to the Dome Valley case.

A woman was found with serious head injuries last Monday and remains in a serious but stable condition in Auckland Hospital.

Orewa Police said today they were now seeking sightings from the public of an "older-style blue van" that was parked on Waiwhiu Conical Peak Road, in the Dome Valley between 8pm and 11pm on Sunday, May 8 (Mother's Day).

They were also seeking anyone who was stopped or parked at the lookout at the top of Dome Valley, near the café, during the same time period.

Police said yesterday a 42-year-old woman was arrested and due to appear in the North Shore District Court today.

A 28-year-old woman appeared in the North Shore District Court last week facing three charges - two counts of kidnapping and one charge of threatening to kill.

She was granted interim name suppression and was remanded in custody until Tuesday when she will reappear alongside her alleged co-offender, a 38-year-old Auckland man.
He also has name suppression.

Police said they were not ruling out the possibility of further arrests as the inquiry continues.
