Police investigating the "ferocious" stabbing of a Wellington man have appealed for sightings of a suspicious vehicle seen near the time of the murder.
Matthew Hall, 35, was killed in his bed at home on Broderick Rd, Johnsonville on February 15.
His body was discovered by a flatmate at about 6.15pm with what police have described as vicious injuries inflicted by a serrated knife.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton said a dark grey Nissan Primera was seen in the area around that time and may provide a clue to who carried out the attack.
"We really need help from residents and those living near Broderick Road and let us know if they saw a vehicle fitting this description either on Tuesday 15 February."
"As we've said since the beginning of this inquiry, it will be the public who help police solve this horrendous crime and I urge anyone who may have seen this vehicle... to contact us as soon as possible."
Mr Hall worked as a consumer consultant for Capital & Coast DHB's alcohol and drug services and general adult mental health services and sang in a death metal band.
No arrests have been made in connection to his murder despite an investigation stretching more than a month.
Investigators have previously released CCTV footage of Mr Hall shopping on the day before his murder and a photo of a serrated knife similar to the one used in the attack.
