KEY POINTS:
Police investigating an alleged sexual violation have asked anyone who took photos in Corsair Bay, 3km west of Lyttelton near Christchurch, last Sunday to contact them.
Hornby Detective Sergeant Ross Tarawhiti said a woman met a group of men, aged between 20 and 40, at Corsair Bay between 11am and 3.15pm on Sunday.
Mr Tarawhiti said the alleged violation had occurred after 3.15pm and away from the beach.
Police hoped photos taken at the beach on that day might help reveal the identities of the alleged offenders.
"It was a lovely day and I imagine a lot of photographs were taken. We're particularly interested in any activities around the raft (platform in the bay)."
