Police appeal after possible Wellington hit and run

Wellington police are appealing for information after a woman was badly injured in a possible hit and run early Saturday morning.

Police said a woman was found near the Wainuiomata Golf Course on Coast Road.

It is believed she had been hit by a car between 2.30am and 5am.

Police have called on any motorist travelling on Coast Rd between 2.30am-5am to contact them so they can be eliminated from their inquiries.

Police are also interested in hearing from anyone who may have information about vehicles in the area that have returned home from overnight with panel damage.

The woman who was injured is in a stable condition in Wellington Hospital.
