An alert about a person clinging to the side of a cliff in Wairarapa was a false alarm.
At 6.23pm a caller told police there was a person clinging to the rocks along Jetty Road at Castlepoint.
Emergency services headed to the scene but by 7.50pm had confirmed there was no person in trouble.
The caller also did a search of the area themselves and found nothing.
