Police officers first on the scene after the death of a Christchurch man will continue to give evidence at the murder trial of his wife today.
Helen Milner is charged with the attempted murder and murder of Phillip Nisbet in 2009, by lacing his dinner with the drug Phenergan before suffocating him.
Police initially believed the death was a suicide.
Sergeant Christopher Baker told the High Court yesterday of his experience upon arriving at the house in the early morning.
He told the jury Milner seemed to conveniently discover a suicide text on her cell phone in front of police.
