Poachers, thieves offered amnesty for information

Poachers and thieves in the Rimutaka Forest Park have been offered an amnesty if they have information about Kaye Stewart, who vanished after telling a DoC worker she was going for a short walk three weeks ago.

Despite searches police are no closer to solving the mystery of the retired Wellington physiotherapist, 62, and have yet to rule out foul play.

Detective Senior Sergeant Soni Malaulau said people who used the well-worn tracks to poach deer or take firewood illegally from the park would not be prosecuted if they contacted police about the inquiry.
