Prime Minister John Key has appeared alongside actor Hugh Jackman in a video made by an Australian man for his Kiwi wife.
Both Mr Key and Jackman feature on the film made by Kristian Anderson, a 35-year-old from Sydney who suffers from cancer.
Mr Anderson made the three-minute video as a birthday gift to wife Rachel.
It doubled as a thank-you for the ongoing support she has given him since he was diagnosed last October.
In an introduction just as the video starts, Mr Key appears on the screen - a tribute to Mrs Anderson's Kiwi roots.
"Hi Rachel, it's John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand here," he says.
"I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday and tell you that Kristian loves you. He's so appreciative of all your support. We wish you a very happy birthday.
"I just had mine a few days ago and so I know what it's like to get a year older. You feel a lot wiser."
Mr Key's smiling face slowly fades, before a scene is shown of a dark room with colourful lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling.
Throughout the video, Mr Anderson holds up large white pieces of cardboard, telling his wife how much she means to him.
"I can't imagine a life without you ... you're beautiful. Without you ... life just doesn't work. I need you like I need a cure for cancer," the words read.
The video also features Jackman, who says: "He loves you, Rachel. He loooves you, Rachel."
