Pike River Mine families have been granted a meeting with Prime Minister Bill English, on February 15.
The following day, Parliament's commerce committee will hear families' supporter Dame Fiona Kidman speak on why Solid Energy should be stopped from finally sealing the mine.
After joining the picket line on the mine access road, Dame Fiona petitioned for Parliament, gathering 511 signatures on-line calling for a stop to the sealing, and that the remains of the 29 men be brought home, if humanly possible.
Solid Energy will appear the same day, immediately after Dame Fiona, to consider the petition as part of its annual review hearing.
The families will be represented by Bernie Monk, Anna Osborne, Sonya Rockhouse and former New Zealand chief mines inspector Tony Forster, who will travel from Australia.
