Dalefield's Ana-May Playle is part of the New Zealand Maori women's hockey team who will defend their Oceania Pacific Cup title in Suva, Fiji, over the next week.
Playle, who has represented Wellington and Wairarapa, was an original selection in the Maori squad for last year's tournament but had to withdraw because of work commitments. She was a member of the side which was runner-up the year before.
Six teams are in the 2011 event: Fiji, Fiji Presidents, New Zealand Maori, Australian Country, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.
