Dalefield would normally expect a comfortable win over Hutt in their Wellington premier division women's hockey match at the National Hockey Stadium in Wellington tomorrow but coach Nigel Goodin is taking nothing for granted.
Rather, he is concerned at the effect being without four of their regular squad, Libby Noema, Chloe Stevens, Jade Foreman and Paige Goodin, could have on his team, a situation compounded by two of their "call up" players in Jodi Graham and Karen James also being unavailable.
What this means is that Dalefield will be heading over the hill with just the 12 players and knowing that their combinations might not be as proficient as they should be.
"It's a bit of a worry but I'd still be disappointed if we didn't manage to come away with a win," Goodin said
"But it's made life tougher, that's for sure."
The last time Dalefield met Hutt they triumphed by a resounding 6-0 and Goodin said the primary objective tomorrow will be to win by three goals or more which would give them a bonus point as well.
The Dalefield men also continue their Wellington premier division programme tomorrow with a fixture against Hutt at the National Hockey Stadium.
Their most recent clash saw Hutt win 8-3 but Dalefield have improved since then and a closer result is confidently anticipated on this occasion.
