Hundreds of Wairarapa households have undertaken the Greater Wellington Regional Council's Warm Greater Wellington scheme, and more people are being urged to consider it.
One hundred homes in the Carterton District, 327 in the Masterton District and 90 in the South Wairarapa District have joined the scheme since it started in April 2010.
Chair Fran Wilde urged householders across the region to use the funding.
"I encourage householders to take full advantage of this scheme and get insulation installed during these summer months. Come winter, you'll be pleased to have it," she said.
"The benefits of modern insulation are immense, including a warm and dry home, reduced heating costs, health benefits and added value to properties,"
