It's been a hoot in other countries. Now it appears the internet trend of "owling" has landed in New Zealand, providing a new headache for police and principals who had just put planking behind them.
Hundreds of people worldwide have posted pictures online of them and their friends owling - which consists of crouching in a high place with arms stuck to your side while staring into the distance with big eyes, imitating an owl.
The trend follows the controversial planking craze where people laid face-down in unusual locations. That craze sparked concerns from New Zealand police after one student was captured laying on a railway line and another balancing on top of a school building.
But, just like planking, people have brushed off the potential dangers and posted owling photos on social networking sites.
The Edge radio hosts Dominic Harvey and Mike Puru were two of the first Kiwis to spread their wings and start owling. Harvey attempted to perch on top of a taxi outside his office in the Auckland suburb of Ponsonby. "I stood on the taxi bonnet outside, but the guy sitting in the taxi tooted at me and that was the end of that."
