A plane which had engine failure has safely landed.
The twin-engine aircraft carrying three passengers was diverted due to engine trouble in the Tasman District.
One of its engines had failed and the pilot declared a PAN-PAN. This is used to declare they have a situation that is urgent but does not pose an immediate danger to anyone's life or to the aircraft itself.
A police spokeswoman said the plane had been diverted from Lake Station Airfield in St Arnaud to Woodbourne Airport in Blenheim.
Police and emergency services were waiting for the plane at Woodbourne Airport. They were called to the airfield at 3.24pm.
