Two people have been injured after a light plane crashed into a sewage pond at Thames Airport this morning.
The single-engine Cessna 172 crashed into the pond at the end of a runway about 10.22am, Fire Service northern communications acting shift manager Tania Matthews said.
Its two occupants managed to get out of the plane and were being treated for minor injuries.
It was not yet known if the plane had been taking off or landing.
There was no risk of fire, Ms Matthews said.
