A man flying a homemade plane crash-landed at Hokitika Airport yesterday.
A police spokesman said the plane wheels sank into the soft ground, causing it to tip.
The pilot was taken to Hokitika Hospital. His injuries were not believed to be serious.
The 74-year-old, who built the plane 20 years ago, was flying home from an aircraft convention in Ashburton.
