A farm worker in his 50s was in a serious condition in Wellington Hospital's intensive care unit last night after receiving head injuries on a Pirinoa farm yesterday.
The injured man, who was hit by farm equipment, was taken to hospital by helicopter about 7.30am yesterday.
The Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter landed close to the scene of the accident and a Wellington Free Ambulance paramedic treated the man before he was flown to the Emergency Department where he was in a serious condition.
Life Flight Trust crewman Logan Taylor said the man was hit by some farming equipment on the property, south of Martinborough.
A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesperson said the man was transported to hospital with head injuries, and in a critical condition.
