The man who admitted murdering Raymond Piper has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum non-parole period of 14 years.
Ainsley Brent Anderson, 51, who in September admitted murdering the Kapiti man in May, was sentenced today when he appeared in the High Court at Wellington.
Mr Piper had last been seen on May 15 and his body was not found until late September, buried in a shallow grave in the Maungakotukutuku Valley.
Susan Bragger, 45, and her brother, Sean Michael Hawke, 50 - the mother and uncle of Mr Piper's former partner, Hanna Lark - pleaded guilty in Porirua District Court yesterday to conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm to Mr Piper.
They were remanded in custody.
