A pilot was forced to land in a paddock near Motueka when his engine failed this morning.
Police said the engine failed as the plane was on approach to Motueka airfield about 10.30am.
The plane nose-dived slightly on landing but remained upright, police said.
The pilot was the only occupant
of the privately-owned aircraft and was unharmed.
