A pilot trapped in a crashed microlight plane in the Central North Island has been freed by rescue crews.
Northern Communications Fire Service shift commander Jaron Phillips said the man suffered minor injuries from the crash, which occurred on farmland off Macmillan Rd near Tirau about 10am.
He had been taken to Waikato Hospital by helicopter.
He was thought to have hurt his back, Mr Phillips said.
Ambulance and police had also attended.
