KEY POINTS:
The union representing Port of Tauranga pilots has withdrawn its notice of next week's strike after mediation with the port company.
Pilots had filed a salary claim seeking parity with pilot rates paid in Australia and had planned to begin a two-week strike next Tuesday.
However, settlement has been reached by the two parties for a two-year collective employment contract for the pilots.
