KEY POINTS:
A man and his seven-year-old daughter reported missing from a pighunting trip in bush near Turangi have walked out unharmed.
Senior Constable Barry Shepherd of Taupo police said the 39-year-old and his child, both of Kuratau, 17km north west of Turangi, were reported missing early this morning when friends and family could not find them.
Mr Shepherd said when daylight ran out, the pair and their four dogs huddled under ferns for the night.
They were well dressed but did not have any way to contact their family.
Later this morning the two made their way back to their farm bike and drove out of the bush.
