This photo of giraffes sheltering from the rain at Sydney's Taronga Zoo by New Zealand amateur photographer Cory Kipa has been selected for the 2014 Sony World Photography Awards.
Kipa describes how he took the photo: "I was just watching the giraffes walking around the enclosure. They weren't doing anything very exciting, and then it started to rain very heavily.
"I took cover so my gear and myself wouldn't get wet and noticed the young giraffes run for the shelter of the cave.
"They were a bit distressed because their mother wasn't with them.
"Then I saw the mother just casually walk over to comfort them. It was such a beautiful moment to witness and I'm very lucky to have been there to capture it."
