New Zealand's newest citizens have shared what they love most about the country at a special Matariki citizenship ceremony at Auckland's Government House this afternoon.
Governor-General Sir Jerry Mateparae, who hosted the ceremony, began by thanking the 25 new citizens for choosing to make New Zealand their home.
A diverse range of cultures, beliefs and languages were "part of the gifts you bring to New Zealand", Sir Jerry told the crowd.
Auckland Mayor Len Brown bore witness to the oaths and allegiances sworn to the Queen and the country by the new citizens.
