From jellyfish the size of dinner plates to muddy kids being hosed down after a fun run, the New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year competition offers a stunning array of images.
Now in its eighth year and located at Karanga Plaza, the contest has photography from 27 finalists chosen from the 5800 entries - the largest field ever - received across five categories: Society and Culture, Wildlife, Landscape, Photo Story and new category Timelapse.
New Zealand Herald photographer Alan Gibson and former Herald staffer Richard Robinson are among the finalists.
