KEY POINTS:
A 41-year-old pilot suffered serious injuries yesterday afternoon after he crashed a light plane on to hill country south of Raglan.
He was flown to Waikato Hospital by the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance.
The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the plane, suffered head and facial injuries, a serious burn and a suspected arm fracture.
A Northern Communications Ambulance spokesman said the man was able to walk out of the plane following the crash.
