KEY POINTS:
Police are searching for a man who made no effort to conceal his identity as he robbed a Post Shop.
The man gave a note to a teller at the shop in Point Chevalier, Auckland, and said he had a gun which he was prepared to use if he didn't get all the money from her till.
He got away with about $700 in mainly $20, $10 and $5 notes in the robbery on Friday afternoon.
Police said he appears to have struck again this morning at a Post Shop in Newmarket. No weapons were used but he again made reference to a gun.
He may also be responsible for a similar offence at the Royal Heights Post Shop in Massey on Monday, August 13
Detective Sergeant Geoff Baber said before the Newmarket incident today: "Given his success to date, I wouldn't put it past this man to try his luck again. We still don't know whether he's carrying a weapon or not, so we're advising Post Shop staff to take the usual precautions when dealing with offenders like this."
The man got away on foot and was last seen going towards the car park at the rear of the shopping area on Huia St.
He has been described as a pale Maori or Polynesian of slim build with short, black hair. He's estimated to be about 178cm tall and is about 24-years-old.
Anyone with information can contact Mr Baber on 09 820 5781.
