Philip Graeme Reeve Coppeard (Phil), 41, was on a bus heading into the Christchurch CBD when the earthquake struck.
Police confirmed Phil's death on Tuesday, March 8.
Originally from Suffolk, England, Phil had moved to Christchurch three months before the earthquake with his wife Suzanne, a New Zealander.
The couple had previously spent four years living in Dubai but Suzanne told the Daily Mail they had wanted to return to New Zealand for a "real life".
