A pharmacist has been suspended pending the hearing of charges of selling prescription medication on the black market.
Samer Dabous, aged 31, faces five charges in North Shore District Court of possession of drugs - including morphine, ritalin, diazapam, triazolam and cannabis - to supply and sell to people over 18.
Dabous completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at Otago University in 2005 and was a former director of Tahi Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Pharmacy Council deputy registrar Jenny Ragg said it was the first case she was aware of in New Zealand.
Dabous' solicitor Arlan Arman declined to comment on the allegations but said a sentencing indication would be required before he pleaded.
