A Masterton pharmacist has been convicted of defrauding the Wairarapa District Health Board of just over $142,000.
Over a period of three years, Ithiel Satya wrote almost 6,000 claims for medicines he never dispensed.
Some were for patients who had died and others were for repeats which patients had not asked for.
Satya has been sentenced to nine months home detention and ordered to pay $25,000 in reparation.
