This is the Peugeot 907 concept car, the French company's interpretation of the ultimate grand touring supercar.
The 907 GT will be unveiled at the Paris motor show this month, one of 52 vehicles and three concept cars on the Peugeot stand.
It is powered by a 6-litre V12 engine, developing around 372kW (500bhp) and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
Peugeot says the carbon fibre body boasts an interior that is functional but classy, offering leather and alcantara for the cabin, wood for the steering wheel and gear lever.
Peugeot is also using the show to launch its third internet-based design competition, an innovation it pioneered in 2000.
"This time, Peugeot is proposing a theme that seeks to explore the tastes and orientations of designers whose vision is focused on a more immediate, accessible and concrete future," said the carmaker.
"The car of your dreams for the immediate future is the theme."
Designers have until December 8 this year to submit their projects. The winning design will be announced at the 2005 Geneva motor show and will be produced in a full-scale version for the 2005 Frankfurt motor show. The winner gets €6000.
