Tauranga police say they will not prosecute anyone involved in petty crime by the Wairoa Bridge - if they can supply information on this week's double homicide.
It is now four days since a couple were found dead with shotgun wounds.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said they have spoken to a number of people, but are keen to locate more.
He said they are looking for a murderer or murderers and are not interested in any petty crime that may have been taking place.
Mr Turner said they have also spoken to a number of people with boy-racer cars, but have not necessarily located the one they were looking for.
It is described as a dark blue Toyota Corolla type vehicle with lowered suspension.
