Motorists are now paying the lowest petrol prices in more than two years.
Petrol prices fell eights cents a litre last month and another three cents today, bringing prices at most outlets to around two dollars a litre.
AA PetrolWatch spokesman Mark Stockdale says the lower pump prices reflect continuing falls in international commodity prices.
He says they are now at their lowest level in more than four years and there appears to be no let up.
Mark Stockdale says it's welcome news for New Zealanders in the lead up to Christmas.
