KEY POINTS:
BP, Gull and Caltex have followed Shell's lead and dropped their petrol prices today.
From 11am, Shell dropped 91 and 95 octane prices 5c a litre to $1.43.9c and $1.48.9c respectively.
Diesel remained unchanged at $1.20.9c.
BP, Gull and Caltex followed soon afterwards.
Gull kept its 1c difference over many rivals, cutting regular 91 to $1.42.9.
Shell said the price drop was due to the continued decrease in the cost of refined product.
This is the sixth price decrease in petrol this month. Petrol is now 29c cheaper than it was at the beginning of November.
Since July 17, the price has dropped a total of 75c a litre.
