Police say a petrol bomb was used in the arson of a police car in Pukekohe last Friday.
The car had been parked on the corner of Princess St and Beatty Rd while a unit were conducting foot patrols in Pukekohe North.The blaze was put out by the fire service. No one was injured but the car was extensively damaged.
Detective Kiley Dalbeth of Counties Manukau South CIB said a petrol bomb, or Molotov cocktail, was found nearby.
"We are now looking for any information members of the public may have that can help us identify who may have been responsible for this attack."
