Petrol station staff are bearing the brunt of angry motorists' frustration at rising fuel prices.
Prices have risen four times this month and AA spokesman Mike Noon said he had heard of forecourt attendants being abused.
"Pump attendants are not responsible for higher prices," he said.
"It is unfair to take it out on those behind the till."
Prices are up to $1.709 a litre for 91 Octane and $1.759 for 95 Octane.
