Fuel prices jumped by up to 4c a litre yesterday - the second big rise in less than a week.
Major companies raised the price of petrol by 3c a litre - taking 91-octane petrol to 141.9c and 96-octane to 146.9.
Diesel jumped 4c a litre to 99.9c.
Prices also rose 3c last Thursday.
A spokeswoman for BP blamed the rise on the global cost of the product and the increased cost of freight.
