Person suffers moderate burns as gas bottle explodes near Tinui in the Wairarapa

A person has been burnt after a gas bottle exploded near Tinui.

Masterton Fire Station was called to the incident by ambulance, just before 5pm.

Firefighters were not required to put out the blaze, a fire communications spokesperson said.

A police media spokesperson said police were informed that the patient had moderate burns to the back of their legs.
