"Ambulance might call it a stabbing but by the sounds of it...it was just a nick. It wasn't a criminal thing but a domestic where someone held a knife and during the push and shove they accidentally 'nicked' the other person," he said.
Police would not confirm whether the incident was related to a shooting between rival gangs in East Auckland on Saturday.
