One person has been hospitalised in a serious condition following a suspicious crash involving a car and a pedestrian near Pukekohe yesterday, police said.
Police Northern Communications Shift Inspector Andy Brill said the ambulance staff were called to the incident on Elbow Rd in Aka Aka, just after 5pm.
They had received reports that a car had hit a pedestrian, but on further investigation, police became aware that the incident may have been intentional, Mr Brill said.
A person was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the incident and the police Serious Crash Unit were investigating.
The police Eagle helicopter assisted to take photographs of the scene, Mr Brill said.
